Invasive insects, diseases and plants pose threats to the health of Wisconsin’s forest communities. Learn from Forest Health Team Leader, Becky Gray, about emerging forest health issues and the statewide and regional coordination of efforts to research and manage them.
Becky Gray is the Forest Health Team Leader in the Division of Forestry at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. She is based at the Forest Health Lab in Fitchburg and has supervised the statewide team of entomologists, plant pathologists, and forest invasive plant experts for over 11 years.
Sweat Equity Award Winner
Symposium attendees celebrated this year’s Sweat Equity Award Winner, Nicci Sternitzky, a dedicated Elm Grove resident working with government officials and residents to control invasive species and incorporate native plants throughout their community.
Everyone enjoyed local food refreshments and five lucky raffle winners returned home with $1,818 in fantastic, donated prizes!
